Hi, I'm looking to turn a turn table through 90 degrees. I can't do a direct drive so I'm going to use a wheel. I need a slow RPM so I'm looking at the RE85 850:1 or 1000:1. I want to put a grippy wheel on so looked at the Solarbotics GMPW. Will this wheel fit onto the motor shaft of an RE85? If not do you have adapters. The turn table has quite a high mass but turns very easily which is why I want plenty of torque and grip to get it to overcome the initial start up. Cheers Jonathan |

Jonathan, Could you quote our part number as I cannot locate a RE85 product. It sounds like it should be a MFA geared motor like the RE385 but that range doesn't have that ratio. |

You're right, it should be RE385 part no. 1450-105 (810:1) and 1450-106 (3000:1). Cheers Jonathan |

Hi Jonathan, Those motors have a 6mm diameter shaft with a flat so great for grub screw fixing wheels. The GMPW wheels are designed for the GM2 or 3 motors which have a hole with two flat sides so I doubt if they would fit the RE385. A possible solution is to use a gear adaptor 4607-062 and clamp a suitable drive wheel under the locking nut. Not sure if the GMPW wheel can be drilled out to 8mm but it looks like it from the photo. I'm in the office this Friday so feel free to call us on 023 8086 3120 and ask for Paul and I can look through the product range and hopefully sort something out for you. |
