The wheel 4260 010 75mm solid rubber
I don't understand the description saying the hole in the sleeve is smaller than the hole in the bearings, this would mean the shaft would have to be smaller in the middle than the ends! Can you explain how I could use these wheels with a simple shaft dose it mean I require some sleeves made to fit the beating dia to the sleeve dia. Or as usual I have the wrong end of the stick, and the sleeve goes through the bearing as well.
Also can you advise how to fit a 3/8-pitch plate sprocket to these wheels?

Many thanks as always

Craig,

The wheel has a bearing bore with the sleeve removed of 11.5mm. Put the sleeve in and the bore is reduced to 9.1mm, it's your choice as to whether to use the sleeve or not.

These wheels can be quote difficult to drive as they are designed to free wheel. As the wheel hub is steel, that opens up the possibility of welding or bolting through. There is no easy answer and really depends on what tools you have available. I have even welded the axle directly into the wheel hub before quite easily.

Could you confirm that the following product accepts a 5mm shaft. I just want to make sure that the "5mm hub" refers to the diameter of the accepting hole, and not the outer diameter of the hub itself. Thanks.

EMG30 100mm Wheel with Hub - Part No: 4260-050
100mm diameter wheel with a hard plastic rim, a firm rubber tyre and a 5mm aluminium hub ready fitted

Hi,

Yes it accepts a 5mm shaft to match that of the EMG geared motor but could be used with other motors with a 5mm shaft.
