Product Id: 1453-005 I wanted more information about this product. Perhaps a data sheet telling me the output of each wire. I have run some tests and already confirmed that the red and black are for power. I guess the other four would have to do with the encoder. The website provided this information: Purple (1) Hall Sensor B Vout Blue (2) Hall sensor A Vout Green (3) Hall sensor ground Brown (4) Hall sensor Vcc I guess Vcc is power for encoder. What is the magnitude of Hall sensor A and B output? Also what is the gear ratio? |

Hi, We have put the datsheet on the website http://www.technobots.co.uk/Data%20Sheets/1453-005.pdf but it does not really state any more than we had already placed into the item description. Yes, red and black are the motor power - terminals 5 & 6. The other 4 are the hall effect sensors as indicated in the description. These sensors would need decoding to give distance travelled and direction. This motor was intended to be used with the associated controller 1502-020 which will take care of the signal levels. The gearbox ratio is 30:1 but the motor rpm is probably not that relevant as we publish the geared output speed of a nominal 170rpm and the encoder is on this output shaft. As for output level, we do not have this data but I would suggest putting 5V on the hall sensors and measuring the output on a scope. If you need any further information, let us know as we will talk to the manufacturer. |

Does this motor have bearings around the shaft? I guess what I mean to ask is, is it ok to mount this motor directly to the wheel for light robot applications? |

Sorry but we do not have information as to the bearing type on the output shaft. Whilst many builders attach wheels direct to gear motor shafts, we always prefer not to due to the stresses that can be placed on the motor / gearing. Clearly if you duty is light, then there is every chance that this motor will last a long time as they are well built. |

Oh Ok. What if I wanted to couple the shaft to another? I noticed it is a bit difficult to find D-shaft couplings. You guys dont sell those do you? |

We stock a range of couplings in various bores that have grub screw fixings which are suitable for D shafts. |

If you can tell me this, I can order the shaft coupling I need. Do you know the specification for the D-shaft? (Ex: D-8, D-12, etc) |

The datasheet specifies a shaft diameter of 5mm, so our 5mm couplings will be fine. See couplings at http://www.technobots.co.uk/acatalog/Shop_Front_Shaft_Couplings_408.html such as 4604-006. |

The photo not even shows the grub screws (not set screws) but also show the hex key that is included with the couplings. |
