Does the Pro-Peak Constellation Charger equal or better the Supernova, Triton and Mercury Ex chargers in your opinion?

The Constellation charger has replaced the Mercury Ex charger which in turn replaced the Supernova 250S charger. Each new model offered new features such as charging of Lithium batteries but basically remains the same 120W charger. The Constellation charger is now housed in a plastic case but does offer higher charging currents. In my opinion, the Mercury Ex was the best model. I cannot comment on the Triton as I have never used it but I have heard of no complaints about it.

Hope you spot this reply as you did not leave an Email address. As a rule of thumb, SLA cxharging current should not exceed 0.2C i.e. 20-25% of its Ah capacity. For a 2.2Ah battery, you would be looking at about 500mA so we would suggest the MFA 12V 500mA SLA Charger - Part No: 1070-032

Hi,
We have a number of NiCd battery packs configured to produce a 14.4v, 7Ah facility. There are four of these packs in each of our units. These packs need to be taken to defined states for storage and deployment.
We are interested to know if specific charge and discharge rates can be set on the Pro Peak Sigma or Constellation chargers.Further technical information on these devices would be much appreciated.

Julian,

You can set the charge and discharge rates and the cut off point within constraints. Charge rate may be constrained to the C capacity of the battery and the discharge current is also constrained by how much heat is being dumped into the heat sink of the charger. Keep within these limits and you can set the charge discharge currents to what ever you require. We do not have a data sheet for these chargers but if you have any further questions, ask away.

Is the 4.8v 350mah battery suitable for my RC Plane, I cannot see a connection wire in your illustration.
Can you tell me if the Pro Peak Delta battery charger tells you when the battery is full?

John,

I have absolutely no idea if our 3.8V 350mAh battery is suitable for your plane. Good question about the connectors, we will get the website updated with the details but they are fitted with a keyed, 2.5 mm two-pin female connectors.

Not sure if the Pro Peak Delta has a light to indicate when the battery is charged but as it changes to trickle charge when full it is quite likely. Of more concern is using this charger on 350mAh packs is not advisable. We recommend 1C maximum charge current (350mA in this case).

Hi,
Just found you on net.
I have been struggling to find charger/ charge reulator to enable me to charge a 12volt 10Ah battery from a 110 Ah 12 volt battery.
Would the Propeak prodigy charger allow me to do this
Any advice gratefully recieved. The smaller battery is used to power a bait boat for fishing
no mains supply on the bank.
PS if the Propeak will do the job can you get one to me by Thursday 11 June ?

Thanks Roy Wretham

Roy,

Yes, it will do the job. If you order by 1pm, we can dispatch same day. Just checked and at the time of writing we have them in stock.
