The LM2576T-5 is a 5V, 3A monolithic devices that provide all the active functions for a step-down (buck) switching regulator. These devices offer a high efficiency replacement for three-terminal type linear regulators, substantially reducing the degree of thermal management required. These regulators are simple to use devices, requiring only a minimum of external components, thus reducing component and assembly costs. Suitable applications for these devices include: simple high efficiency buck regulation, pre-regulation for linear regulators, on-card switching regulators, positive to negative conversion (buck-boost).
