Hi there,
I am trying to fix a fibre optic colour changing xmas tree, the motor has stopped working, the old one is a synchronous motor (TYC42-5) AC 12V 50/60 Hz 5R.P.M 2W, do you supply these at all or anything very similar ? If so please could yo link me to it, if not do you have any idea where I could get one.

Thank you

Sorry but we do not stock any AC motors, just DC. Best to search google as none of our suppliers stock them either.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply, I don't really know the difference between AC and DC but would I be able to replace the above mentioned motor with a DC one of the same specs? If so would I need to do anything different in connecting it up ?
Thank you for your time.

No, they cannot be interchanged, you really need the same product as originally fitted. Our motors are designed for battery use, your tree is for running off the mains electricity supply. You may also find that if you can find a replacement, the cost could be more than the tree was originally. That's the throw away society we live in!
