Whilst not intended for underwater propulsion, I guess that it should work but whether it would be rigid enough to survive depending on motor power is unknown. You may be better selected a boat prop and matching this to a motor if performance is important. As for "would it be better than an impeller sold on this site", what site, what impeller?"
