We do not have a published figure for the stall current but would expect it to be in the range of 150 to 200A. Sorry but not sure what you mean by "what these motors are"? These geared motors are at the time of writing unavailable but we can supply the motors without the geared transmission if this is of interest. The motor has from memory a short shaft with a pin through it. You did not leave a return Email address but if you need more info, do let us know.

Hi there
I am looking to order a
24V 800W Geared 20:1 MY9716 1471-121 £68.95
But it is out of stock!
First, is this both the motor and transaxle in the picture or just the motor?
Second, When will it be in stock?

The manufacturers in China shipped us the geared motors without the transaxle gearbox assembly!

We have the motors in stock at £45 each but the whole assembly will not be available for a few months yet.

Thanks for the reply on the availability of
24V 800W Geared 20:1 MY9716 1471-121
Looks like this motor is what i need.
Could you please tell me if the motor is 4 pole(brushes)?
Also as the dimensions given are for the transaxle could you please give me the dia and length of the motor. If you could send me a photo of both ends this would help greatly.
Thanks for your help

Hi, The motor has 4 poles and the brushes are accessible from the outside. We have a few of these motors left but we would have to send via City Link - we will not send anything by Parcel Force, their service is simply too poor. We will get back to you with dimensions and pics but you will need to wait a few days I'afraid.

Kind regards

Hi there
Ref:"We have a few of these motors left"
Please dont sell the last 1 before giving me the dimensions. I really really need 1 of these if the sizes are right. City Link are so much more expensive than Parcel Force and I have never lost anything with them. Check out the City Link complaints on the Ebuyer forum. http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/home/
But I will take it any way you send it.
Just send the sizes as soon as possible. I am loosing the battle here.
Thanks very much

The motors are 177mm long, 98mm diameter. The output shaft is 12mm long, 12mm diameter with a roll pin through it.

We have found the sevice from Parcel Force to be unreliable, slow and expensive for tracking. We also have issues with City Link but not as many! We ahve tried a number of carriers and City Link overall have been okay.

Hello,

Do you have any 24V 800W geared motors (MY9716) in stock yet? If not, do you have a delivery date scheduled?

I am building a child's electric car (weight 30kg + child 20kg). Is this a suitable motor? I am trying to keep the installation as simple as possible hence I am considering the geared motor. I would like a top speed of no more than 10 mph and have 3.50/9" wheels (diameter 375mm).

If this motor is suitable which speed controller would you recommend to go with it? I do not mind if it is not reversable.

If the MY9716 is not readily available can you recommend another suitable unit.

Do you supply suitable in line fuses to be wired between the two batteries to make 24V output.

Cheers

Hi,

We had hoped to get them in by now but it looks like it will not be until mid April.

This are rather too powerful for a childs electric car not unless you intend to also tow the family car behind as well! Seriously though, you could get away with far less power for 50kg all up if you prefer.

All of our controllers are reversible except for the Uni range. We need to check out the motor spec but for your application, a UNI-40 or Vortex-40 would be okay although full load would be I expect about 44A.

Yes, we have a range of suitable fuses and holders.

375mm wheels are likely to be too fast for a 30kg child, you might find running the motor at 12V would not only half the speed but also reduce the power to about 200W. That way you could increase the voltage to 24V in the future.

Thanks for the info.

If I use one of your 24V motors but wish to use it at 12v I presume that means I would require a 12v controller instead of a 24v unit.

Angus,

That is correct although it is possibe to convert some 4QD 12V controllers to 24V. Details for this can be found on the 4qd.co.uk website. The 4QD site is a large website so if you can't find out, let us know and we will trawl through it for a link.
