I am a student at Kingston University, and am currently part of a team designing and building a chain driven self balancing scooter. I have identified a motor (Part No: 1470-014) that should be suitable. However, do you have any a) chain drives compatible with the motor b) a chain guard to go with it and c) a compatible sprocket? If you are able to supply the above, are they readily available in stock and at what price? I greatly appreciate your time, and await your response. Many Thanks Oliver Baker |

Oliver, This motor is supplied with a timing pulley fitted that can easily be removed and a sprocket fitted instead. Our sprockets are supplied blank which means you will need to drill and tap suitable fixing grub screws to suit your own application. I would suggest a 6 or 8mm chain pitch, the motor sprocket needs to have a 8mm bore and we stock a wide range of spockets. We cannot supply chain guards as the number of variations is simply too great but I would imagine this would be the least of the challenges you will face from building such an advanced project. Please let us know how you get on with the project. Regards Paul |
