No, you cannot not use a preamp with the engine sound unit. The only way at present to adjust the volume of the sound unit is to change the speaker supply voltage. If it is too loud, try a lower voltage. If you need further advice on this, please post a question using the Q&A tab on one of the engine sound units and we will assist."
