Description: The MegaBrite is an upgraded version of the ShiftBrite. It uses the same A6281 controller chip with simple SPI daisy chained control, but uses five-chip 100mA wide angle red, green, and blue LEDs. The perceived output power of the red channel is less than the blue and green channels, but when mixed at maximum output, it appears white. Each LED supplies a blinding ~35,000 mcd over a 120 degree viewing angle.
Due to the additional power requirements, no more than five MegaBrites should be operated on a straight through chain of 6 pin cables. A screw terminal header is supplied to directly inject power on various points of the chain. If desired, each MegaBrite can be powered individually.
