"Terry,
Very few of our motors give a noise figure. Most of the geared motors use high rpm motors that create much of the noise. 1450-056 is a much more powerful motor with steel gears and is very likely to create more noise than the smaller plastic geared 1400-038."

"I am looking for a low speed motor approx 3 RPM but it needs to be as quiet as possible. There seems to be two choices: 1400-038 or 1450-056. The former is good value and gives a noise level of 45dBA at 100mm but the noise of the other is not given. Which would be the quieter."

"Neil,
We recommend that you look at the datasheet that can be found under the 'Downloads' tab.
The shaft is 5mm diameter with two flat sides 4mm wide. It is 6mm long and made from POM (Acetal).
