How much current can the Bot-Packs deliver

Technically the cells can only supply 40A but the Bot-Packs can and do deliver in excess of this. The Bot-Packs are assembled using 6mm solid links between cells which are soldered on rather than spot welded. Whilst soldering is not recommended by cell manufacturers, for high current discharge it is essential. High currents will cause a heating effect within the cells due to their internal resistance. We have many customers who discharge their packs over 4-8 minutes with no adverse temperature rise. Experience shows that each Bot-Pack should be limited to 80 to 100A. You can parallel packs up to deliver higher currents, 3 packs is common with some users having 4 packs in parallel. |
