Bot-Packs will show a temperature rise is use. During discharge, the surface temperature of the pack should not exceed 50 Deg C (internally 60 Deg C). During charging the pack temperature should not exceed 40 Deg C.

Many users look for a quick turn-around and wish to charge up immediately after discharging, best to wait 5-10 minutes (longer if pack temperature is above 40 Deg C) and then recharge. Generally the pack will cool faster than it heats during the charging process even if fast charging. However, if fast charging, a temperature rise will be seen during the final stages of charging (90 - 100%) so particular attention should be made to pack temperature during this period. Naturally, if using the Bot-Packs during periods of high ambient temperature, cooling periods will be longer (some users use fans to aid the cooling process).

Whilst this may appear to be a problem, users soon get to know their Bot-Packs (many have spare sets to exchange between use) and this additional care is worth the significant weight saving over lead acid batteries.
