do have any small push /pull solenoids that would work at ~9 volts, or know where to obtain such ?

Dave, we have supplied solenoids in the past in bulk to schools etc but it is not something we would stock. You could try Maplin Electronics or similar electronic component suppliers. Sorry we can't help this time.

Hi, might be a long shot. but i am building a pwm from scratch and i am impressed that you keep nearly all components needed for the project. there is a couple though that i cant see on your site. could you please advise if you can source any of the following or could you recomend an alternative that you either keep or can get a hold of. i am hoping to use yourselves for the full project as i am very pleased with the service i recieve from technobots. thanks in advance. ps i will be buying in bulk as i will be making a load of pwm's.

Hi Ian,

Thank you for the kind feedback.

You have selected some obscure components there. The diode whilst not widely available should be available in the UK from the EIC distributor. The C901x transistors should be available from Germany, the MOSFET is readly available as is the capacitor.

From that we would need to know quantities required and it may well be subject to a minimum order value as well. You could re-think your transistor requirements away from the C9's.

Regards

Paul

Thank you for your quick reply. I had a feeling the diode and caps would cause a slight problem. Unfortunately I am not picking the components I am actually working off a circuit diagram which I managed to obtain. I would prefer to change the diode and transistors to something something more widely available but I don't know how to look for an equilivent as I have limited experience in electronics. Could you advise if there is any equilivents that you know of. As for quantitys I will be looking for at least 100 diodes. 100 caps. 100 transistors. And about 20 to 30 mosfets. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks for all your help paul.e

Hi Ian,

I have just checked my equivalent's books and they are not listed (either as a C or as a 2SC prefix). They are listed in a data book but that does not show equivalents.

Sorry I cannot be of more help.

Regards

Paul

Thanks for checking Paul. i done some research on this and to my understanding the following components should be compatible -
C9012 > BC327 or BC636
C9013 > BC337
FR302 > 1N5401 (100v or 200v i think)

could you advise if you think i am way off.

i have noticed that you list all these items but as for the IRF3205 and the 10uF 16V capacitor how will i get a price and also how would i proceed through checkout for these. i am going to work out exact quantities and get all the components at the same time from yourselves.

thanks again Paul

Hi Ian, sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I will need to refer to my data books and let you know. We have been hectic ever since the start of the new year for some reason.

thats no problem, take your time as this is going to be my next project i wont be starting it for another couple of weeks at least, im just trying to work out if all parts are available and a total cost so i can make sure it is worth while building pwm's in bulk. as i said no rush just when ever. thanks again

regards ian

Hi Ian,

There is limited information out there on these transistors, in fact google searches are now bringing this thread up!

I did find the KTC9012 & 9013 which are complementary transistors with a 0.625W, 30V Vceo, 40Vcbo, 0.5A ratings. The BC327 & 337 are complementary with higher voltage and current ratings. Just one thing to make sure of is the pin outs, you may find the C&E swapped over.

The diode is available as a 200, 400 or 600V rating with a 1.5A rating. So you may be better off with one of the higher voltage ratings.

May be best to start off with a prototype construction to see how the substituted components perform.

Regards

Paul
