Kevin, Thank you for posting on the forum, we did get your direct posts to support as well! Using our robot speed calculator from the Technobots website, 32mm diameter gives 1334 rpm at 5mph and 2668 at 10mph. Using our usual bench mark of 15W/kg, you would need 5.6W per drive motors, one per side. 3 lipo cells on the 1450-101 should be fine. You could also consider a 1450-060. How much weight did you allow for the motors? Regards Paul |

hi cheers for reply i will not fitt the two motors into the model as it is not big enough i was hoping to use one motor bit tight for space of the tamiya sets like the 70093,would that on the 17.1 ratio be powerfull enough i have some motorart trucks and they seem the same motor and only on 6 volts if i used this one what weight would it pull with the 32mm wheels on 2 cell lipo cheers for reply kev |

thanks for info so instead of 2 motors could i use 1 motor at 1334 rpm for 5mph and 11/15watts to pull the weight but needs to be small as possible as the chassis is only 30mm wide do you have any motor gearboxs that will do this or can you suggest a motor and gears that you stock cheers kev |

Kevin, You can use 1 motor of course, what is the maximum physical size the motor can be, what voltage will you be running it at as that will dictate the motor power? |

hi thanks for reply i use boat esc as they are more responsive than car ones so i use 2 cell lipo 7.4 volts and that makes it easy run my servos off the phisichal size of inside diamater of chassis is 24mm wide x 30mm length i think im asking alot maybe some pics of the chassis would help cheers kev |

Hi Kevin, Thank you for the pics. There really is not a lot of space for a geared motor of suitable power. How do you propose to drive the axle? It is lending itself to a worm drive. Even a small 1.8W geared motor could be 50 to 60mm long. You may have to accept a lower speed and / or over volt a motor and risk a shorter life from it. |

hi cheers for reply what do you recomend to drive the axle i'd be getting them from you what speed would i be looking at with the 1.8w motor what price are they and can u give me the ref number for part so i can go have look cheers kev |

Hi Kev, I just noticed a typo in my last post. I should have said there was not a lot of space for a geared motor - now corrected! Could you fit in our size E motor 1400-024? Could you upgrade to a 4mm shaft as you could then use our brass hub gears such as 4600-032. For the worm drive try 4600-037 although you may have to open the reducer up from 1.9 to about 2.15mm bore. It does not look like you can fit in a 918D, what do you think? Regards Paul |

That size E motor will be too slow at 7.4V and with worm reduction so ignore that suggestion. See if you can fit in 1401-011. It runs at 7.2V and is high revving, with a 15T spur gear on the axle should give you 5mph and with plenty of power. |

hi is that the same as like a graupner speed 400 just measured one same dimmensions a touch on big size tho i've just tried a speed 280 all these i have lying around i fly planes they from them gone all brushless and that fits perfect do you know this motor could i use it and what worm drive can i use yes i can use a 4mm axle thanks for all your help your well up on all this i am only just learning about ratios an stuff so thanks taking time help cheers kev |

hi had a look at the worm drive looks good tried look at 4600-032 said no product match but i guess i would need a differnt size spur gear if i use the 280 i have its rated from 4'5 throught to 8.4 volts cheers kev not sure ov rpm but i know they powerfull or do you have a 280 size motor you know the rpm ov so we can work ratio out i like the idea of using the brass gears on the 4mm shaft or what ever matches itself to the 280 motor size cheers kev |

hi i have been cheching up on motor rpm seems the motor i have (280) does 1450 rpm so if i run that motor on 7.4 volts i've ran these on this volts on planes with 5/5 props pulling 12 amp had no probs so can you recomend a suitable worm and spur gear on what ever shaft but 4mm my limit i had a go on the clculator it said 11.1 not sure if that right but ive no idea how to work it out with worm drive the motor shaft is 2mm again thanks for help got to say learned more on this website than enyother in 3 days cheers kev |
