This unidirectional DC motor speed controller is based around using a PIC microcontroller. Supplied fully assembled and tested.
The controller allows controlling the Speed of a DC motor or other DC load using a Pulse-Width-Modulated (PWM) DC voltage with a Duty Cycle fully adjustable from 0 to 100%. The controller has two modes of operation: Fixed or variable frequency. The fixed frequency mode of operation runs the controller at 100Hz. The variable frequency mode is adjustable from 244Hz to 3.125kHz. It can can provide up to a maximum continuous current of about 30A.
An optional fan is available and is recommended for continuous operation at maximum power or for high frequency at high current applications.
Control of the speed is through a single potentiometer as is the freqency adjustment. The controller also features a soft start that greatly reduces the mechanical stress on the motor.
